Q&A: How to get a Christmas party look fast

Q:"Our Christmas party is straight after work on a Friday and I face getting ready in the office loos! How can I update my day makeup for a glitzy black tie affair without spending hours on it?!" Claire, London.
A: “The best way to glam up after work for the Christmas do is to use a good mineral foundation on top of your makeup - it won't block pores and will quickly make you look flawless!
“I highly recommend Bella Pierre mineral foundation and brush selection - brush it on in small circles, buff the face until any imperfections are hidden and a natural glow appears. Apply a shimmer powder, such as Laura Mercier Mineral Illuminating Powder in Candlelight, onto the cheeks for a sexy glow.
“Enhance your eyes with a black glitter liner, such as Two Faced Starry Eyed Liquid Liners, which suits everyone - this is a great modern twist to a classic look. Lastly use either your favourite lipstick or gloss with added sparkle (MAC do a fantastic range) on your lips.
“For fast and glamorous eyes, try Pixi Smoky Eyes Liners - they come in several great dark colours and are easy to use. They are pencils that glide on and smudge very nicely indeed! Apply your chosen colour very close to the lash line on top and below the eye, and use a very small pointed brush to smudge the line until it looks smoky. Laura Mercier does a great smudging brush exactly intended for this!
“Finally, curl the lashes with a top eyelash curler, like Shu Uemura’s, to open up the eye and add lashings of black mascara (my favourite is Givenchy!). Zig zag the mascara wand from the root of the lashes upwards and outwards - this makes sure each lash is fully coated. Repeat once more. Voila easy glamour!”
